Rachel's Services
Art Psychotherapy
Using art as a means of expression and healing for children and adolescents. Without promoting a focus on aesthetic value, art can become a vehicle to help a young person navigate and communicate the complexity of life.
Coping with Bereavement and Loss
Supporting young individuals in dealing with the difficulties of loss and grief. Separation, bereavement and isolation can induce feelings which go far beyond the reach of words. Art can provide a bridge between a child's inner and outer world, thus improving an ability to feel heard and connected.
Anxiety and Self Esteem
Helping children and adolescents manage feelings of anxiety and improve self esteem. Self expression and an increase in methods of communication can both empower and enhance self worth. Art can help regulate complex feelings and provide space and perspective within the developing psyche, promoting growth and resilience.
Integrative Supervision
Providing supervision to psychotherapists and professionals such as teachers, HSCLO's, project and youth workers working with children and young people. Rachel provides method specific supervision to fellow Child Art Psychotherapists. In person, individual, group and online sessions are available to promote and enhance reflective practice, using an integrative and creative approach. The Seven Eyed Process and Cyclical Models, alongside the Vasarheyli Method for group supervision provide an overall framework. Hawkins, P., & Shohet, R. (2006), Page, S., and Wosket, V. (2014) and Vasarhelyi, V. (2011)
